I can play just about any style, but I'd describe my ideal drumming style as groove based, tight rhythms with rock/funk/jazz and the occasional bit of ska based backbeat. I'm not loud or busy (though I can do that if required). I prefer to play a subtle, musical style with fills, flourishes and mood swings that suit the music.
I could go on, but that probably gives you a reasonable idea.

Influences
I've played in lots of bands and covered lots of styles...
US west coast style and country rock, like CSNY and Doobies and Neil Young. Lots of British rock from glam (Roxy, Bowie etc.) to classic (Stones, Purple etc.) and all the covers band stuff that that brings along.
BUT I don't really want to go over that old territory.
My current interest is much more at the R&B/funk/jazz/soul end of the spectrum, based on my most recent band experience in Maddy Carty's band - contemporary in the the Adele, Winehouse area whilst having a style of its own.
So I'd be up for anything original like that, or something similarly interesting like a bit of Steely Dan, Robert Cray, John Mayer, Keb Mo, or further down the soul road.
