ABOUT
Hey everybody:D
I'm Ross, 22, and I'm perhaps best categorised as a rock/metal musician. I picked up a guitar on my 16th birthday and by the time I'd turned 18 I had played bass for a year as well as picking up drums.
As well as working as a solo musician, I play bass for a fellow musician and friend, Keith - who plays classical/flamenco guitar beautifully. His music is probably best described as acoustic/classical/folk/reflective rock.
Everything in the world around me inspires me to write music and to play it well. As well as my musical tastes, I'm very much inspired by people and personal experiences. I always try to look at everything in a positive light, even if some of my lyrics sometimes seem contradictory to that statement.
I feel that positivity is reflected in the music that I write and play, regardless of whether a song is initially sparked off by a happy, euphoric, sad, mixed or even depressing mood.
Wherever possible, I try to 'break away from the norm' for want of a better expression. Rather than stick to one specific genre, I'd like to cater for as many tastes as I can and fuse genres together - even create my own genre! For now though, my main focus is writing good music, establishing a market for it and getting my music heard.
I remain optimistic and hopeful that I will gig after releasing an album - the working title being 'A Cross-Section Of Me' due for release summer/autumn 2008 - and gaining a fanbase.
Thank you for reading this far. Please feel free to leave comments and suggestions on my music. Again, thank you.
