Submarine Racers is a Cambridge based Band available to hire for weddings, birthdays, functions, festivals and pub performances. Four experienced musicians combine to form a dynamic band that’s passionate, powerful, and spirited. You won’t find another band that delivers a better, higher-quality sound.
Where did the name originate? American 50’s slang - The term "submarine races" was used as a humorous way to convey the message that a couple was or would be going to the beach to park instead of make out point.
You park near the water and watch the submarines race (which is pretty uneventful, so you do something else to pass the time).
