My name is $u$, hyperpop musician from the UK, renowned for my iconic panda hat and heavy glitches in my songs. I write, release, mix and perform all my own vocals.
?Nate Simmons (born: August 02, 1998 [age 23]), better known as online $u$ (pronounced "sus"), is a British musician best known for his 2021 hit single "Serotonin" with Bolivian rapper, singer and record producer Alan Sea, better known as SadSixx.
?Nate was born on August 02nd, 1998 in Peterborough, UK. He struggled in high school, his father encouraged him to learn the drums but Nate struggled with Music Theory. However, Nate claims he was good with rhythm and enjoyed playing recreationally until he was 17.
His influences always varied, but the classic roots of Nate's music taste include, but are not limited to: Linkin Park, Slipknot, 50 Cent, Eminem, Limp Bizkit, Wiz Khalifa, Suicide Silence and more.
$u$ started to get in to the music business when he saw good results on a few mediocre rap projects he made after experimenting with Audacity in his bedroom. He enjoyed making the music and decided he would like to turn this passion into a full-time career.
From there, Nate kept producing rap tracks, up until the pandemic of 2020 struck. Being stuck inside encouraged him to try out different styles, purely out of boredom. He tried a few styles, however, decided that Digicore, Emo Trap and Hyperpop music was his niche. A few examples of his Digicore/Hyperpop music include: Ditched (By My Friends), Normal?!, Asking If I'm Fine, and more.

$u$, brings a Digicore, Hyperpop, and Emo Trap vibe to his one-of-a-kind music. Coming out of a small town in Peterborough, UK, the young vocalist was determined to make it as a recording artist from a young age, and has been creating music since 2016.
With Carlisle as his current home, $u$ released his debut EP, “Caffeine”, to the universe.
Determined to make every track on the EP singular in its beat and lyrics, each and every song is undeniably unique to the last.
With influences spanning across various different music genres, $u$ ties together Caffeine by infusing pop-punk and rock elements into Hyperpop music - a niche genre that is becoming increasingly popular with a wide audience today. From hard-hitting bangers, such as “Mug” to more melodic songs like “Asking If I’m Fine” that explains how his girlfriend regularly checks to make sure him, and his mental health, are fine.
Caffeine gave $u$ a reputable name as a full-fledged Hyperpop artist.
$u$ also has a passion for making Digicore music, originally influenced by artist “Capoxxo”, and this is showcased in his latest, and most popular ep to date, “I Don’t Feel Like Crying”, a 3 song long EP, featuring music artist “0CE4N”.
All the songs on the EP are of similar vibe to one another, and have proven that $u$ can adapt to any electronic genre, alongside his Emo Trap Music.
