ABOUT

The Root Doctors are a rocking 3-piece blues band from The Midlands. Paying homage to our influences, we play our own interpretation of classic and contemporary blues/blues-rock songs by many former and present-day greats.

We formed in May 2019. After several months doing the groundwork to get up & running, gigs rolled in and we were fully booked for 2020 & beyond. Despite a great start, COVID then struck! During lock-down we also then lost our drummer who left for personal reasons! So, for nearly 18-months the band has been on hiatus.

Now that live-music is back on its feet, we’re dying to get back doin’ what we love. We’re therefore eager to find a like-minded sticks-man to join the fold and pick-up where we left-off.

Our plan as soon as we find the right guy is spending the necessary time this year getting everything in order. Most importantly ensuring the live set is back in tip-top shape and everything’s gelling as it should be. Behind the scenes of course while all this is happening, we’ll be busy doing all the necessaries to secure gigs throughout 2022 onwards. If we’re ready and able to play any live dates later in 2021 then all the better. Some new recording work will also be on the cards.

We have our own PA and lighting equipment.

Rehearsals will generally be once-weekly, at least until everything’s up to speed. Likely rehearsal studio will be www.neonstudios.co.uk . This could be either weekday evenings, or weekends as required.

Our gig-quota is to play 1-3 dates per month, approx. 20 to 30 shows per year - in pubs, clubs & festivals across the Midlands. Eventually playing further afield too as & where opportunities arise.

ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for a competent, reliable, flexible and hard-working drummer who’s diggin’ the sound of all this. Worth noting that although we need the right abled player, it’s just as important for us to find someone we connect and get along with.

We are not looking for deps currently. Anyone interested only in a temporary arrangement of any kind need not apply. This is for someone who wants to be in a band and be in it for the long run!
