ABOUT

The Round Window is a band from Colchester, Essex & Nottingham. Our debut album was released on 30th September 2022 with the follow up released in December of 2023. The albums can be listened to or purchased at: https://theroundwindow.bandcamp.com/

Our new mini-album, Fram, was released on 29th November 2024.

We play a blend of melodic rock that draws from a wide variety of influences and that focuses on songs and atmosphere.

We are looking to recruit a bass player to join up with us as we begin to gather songs for our third album and seek further live opportunities.

We play rock music that is strongly and widely influenced by classic, progressive and melodic rock. A wide range of influences would be beneficial.

Ability to record at home is very helpful in developing demos.

Enthusiasm and a positive outlook are crucial personal characteristics. We consider the rehearsal studio to be a place where the final 10% of performance is honed so we expect everyone to be fully prepped and practiced before meets. We are committed to making studio material of the highest quality.

We are confirmed at the Prog For Peart charity festival on 19th July 2025.

Influences

Wide and varied. Our music is influenced by classic rock & prog as well as contemporary music from across the rock spectrum.

We take an open approach to songwriting and try not to work to a set formula. Album number three is heading into a slightly darker direction with influences creeping in from prog/rock crossover artists like Marillion, Peter Gabriel and Steven Wilson.
