SEEKING
Drums.ABOUT
Hello there!
Competent, experienced and respected musicians seek a drummer who is well versed in mid 20th century styles, including Jump Blues, Rock'n'Roll, Big-Beat Swing (think Ruth Brown, Wynonie Harris, The Treniers, etc.) to join their 7 piece dance band. The line-up comprises two female singers, sax, guitar, piano, double bass - and perhaps you. This is a new group, but all involved are fairly "high profile" and well established players on the vintage music scene. Everybody works in other outfits, so the band is expected to kick off with around a dozen shows in the first post Covid season and we'll see where it takes us. You must be an excellent time keeper, with a good sense of light and shade, reliable (once we've committed to a gig, we stick with it), fun, friendly, respectful and easy going. Rehearsals and studio work are a part of the deal. Age unimportant (we're broadly ranged in that respect) but you would be expected to look the part (long hair just wouldn't work - unless you're female drummer). We do wear matching stage gear. We are based mainly London and the home counties and generally (not always) rehearse in Mill Hill.
Here's a link to check out the band (only one of our singers present) https://www.youtube/watch?v=QwpJcSZZ7tY
We look forward to hearing from you!
