I'm a guy in his forties who played bass professionally for a few years back in the day, to minor success. I've got a good voice and can play keys and guitar passably. Children and responsibilities turned me into a (mostly) bedroom musician but now its time to get back out there. I'm looking for collaborators to write songs and perform favourite covers with.

Influences
I just love well crafted, melodically strong songs but beyond that, my taste is pretty eclectic and I've been musically influenced accordingly. Started with the 80s (Duran Duran, Japan esp.) It used to sit in the 60s/70's classics for a while (from Free to Neil Young, The Doors to Roxy) it probably centres around Americana and lo-fi these days. Here's just a short, random list of some of my biggest influences; Nick Drake, Ryan Adams, Stones, Faces, Black Crowes, Bread, The Carpenters, Van Morrison, Nick Cave, Elbow, John Mayer etc. etc. More recently I've enjoyed stuff by John Grant, Vulfpeck, Bahamas, Hiss Golden Messenger, Tedeschi Trucks and others

EQUIPMENT
I am definitely a gearhead. I have a Logic set up at home with nice Arturia, Toontrack and Slate plug ins. Acoustic, electric and bass guitars (Gibson, Fender, Gretsch, Stonebridge). Also have a double bass I can't really play but enjoy fiddling with. Also have a small grand piano, various nice mics etc.
