Band to Join, Bass Guitar.

ABOUT

I am an experienced professional musician looking for a bass player for my current project.
The last few years have been spent playing other peoples' music and writing my own. I am towards the end of the writing process and will be ready to start gigging on a regular basis. The band have everything in place to go ahead with recording and establishing an effective touring plan (manager, funding, producer etc) and will be looking to get moving in the new year.
Unfortunately our original bass player had to leave due to a conflict of interests so I'm on here looking for a replacement. We would like to audition quite a few players in as short a time as possible so we are adding this site as one of our approaches to finding the right person.

What we are looking for:
A skilled bass player who knows exactly what is required of a musician to play in a band. No shredders or over players, timing and feel is everything! Ideally you would need to sing backing vocals (or even lead should the song require), so bring able to harmonise is important. Musicality, creativity and groove are essential to serve the song and, above all else, this is what we will be looking for in the musician. It goes without saying you need to not be a dick ;-)

What you would be joining:
A group of skilled musicians looking to create music that is both accessible and artistically credible. I myself am a singer/guitarist/keys player . I have a studio that i use for my work in soundtrack composition and producing other musicians. This is where I have been writing and recording the work so far and will be the base of operations. The writing is ongoing and the goal is that we would be able to write together as a band. We definitely have fun, however, seeing as this is what we do for a living and see this project as a viable revenue stream, we maintain a professional approach to our work and expect everyone involved to do the same.

Influences

The initial brief of the project was to come up with a style that is similar to Tame Impala & Unknown Mortal Orchestra however this has developed somewhat as writing has moved forward. I'll outline a list of bands that have influenced us so far, please add the above two to the list.

Tom Waits, Steely Dan, Bruce Springsten, Neil Young, Nick Cave, Funkadelic, Chic, Willie Nelson, Mars Volta, Faith No More, Pantera, Billie Holiday, Kendrik Lamar, Toto.... The list goes on!
