Influences
Delta Blues, 60's blues, Stevie Ray Vaughan, 60's soul and R&B too, Etta James, Aretha Franklin etc, the standard classic rock bands, Led Zep, Stones, Clapton, etc. Likes me a bit of old school thrash metal too, particularly early Slayer/Megadeth/Metallica. Also like lighter stuff, modern folk such as Bon Iver, Laura Marling and Mumford and Sons. In terms of more mainstream bands/artists, Kings of Leon are a personal fave, stereophonics,David Gray and last but certainly not least, Rodrigo y Gabriella.
As a guitarist, influenced by the styles of Stevie Ray, Mark Knopfler, wouldn't have picked the guitar up without Jimmy Page, James Hetfield (if only for the sheer energy) David Gilmour, and many other players really.
