Joining this network to hopefully kickstart getting back into singing. I was brought up in the church and was part of a gospel choir for a long time. I've done a few open mics and gigs here and there in my early twenties. For that last four years, I've focused more on my career ( I'm a teacher) but I do miss rehearsing and performing and church choir is no longer an option for me as I'm not religious. I've babbled into song writing too!
I'm looking to join a band or group that would be interested in having a vocalist. I'm available mainly on the weekends however potentially in the evenings too.

Influences
Jazz- favourite influences would be Sarah Vaughan and Any Winehouse
Soul and Neo Soul - my favourite artists would be Erykah Badu, Hiatus Kiayote and a D'angelo type of vibe.
I enjoy singing R&B, soul and hip-hop too and I would say I definitely prefer music before my time but I love to discover new sounds.
These are the genres that I would say are in my wheelhouse but I also love afrobeats, dancehall and house music.
Probably my favourite artist of all time would be Fela Kuti.
