We're currently a 2 piece set up needing a drummer/percussionist to add some flavour to our original material. Both of us are at a respectable age of 40(-ish) and have been playing in different genres of music on different instruments for the past 24 years.
The feel of this new band is laid back electric folk, a kind of toe tapping, easy listening groove with acoustic guitars and a bass. Rather than the norm and having everyone playing one particular instrument we thought we'd have some fun and mix things up a bit on some of the songs by switching instruments. The requirement from the drummer is for someone who is confident with their playing enough to know when to hold back as some of the songs require little or no input other than maybe a bit of percussive playing to add some dynamic. We also focus on harmony vocals in a lot of the songs, nothing too technical but it would be nice if the new member to the expedition could sing as well so that we can have a laugh at trying some 3-part harmonies.
We have both played an array of gigs over the years so have full experience there.
We aim to practice once a week and look to play at some local festivals this year, one of which is in June as well as playing at suitable bars/pubs etc.
