ABOUT

Rock band in Glasgow area seeking a permanent drummer to complete the lineup for occasional rehearsals, recording, and shows. We're quite varied in age and experience level and highly inclusive so don't be put off by the fact we're three middle-aged (or, in John and Adam's case, almost-but-not-quite middle-aged) white dudes. We want someone behind the kit permanently that wants to play the songs and is able to play the songs. That's it. Age, sex, gender ID, etc don't matter.

We put out a record called When in Rome in 2023 which features the best songs from our two early EPs (2009's Void Pleasantries and 2011's From Afar) plus two new songs.

We have songs on a number of comps including 'From Afar' which was on Marly Records' Halloween Collection vol. 2 (2019) and 'No Good Reason' on Gateway Records' Rock Right Now compilation (2020) and have played a bunch of gigs with various lineups, mainly in and around Glasgow.

We split up twice previously, but are back together with a new lineup and a new appreciation for playing and having a good time together. We're going to be around for a long time this time around and we are currently still looking for a permanent drummer, so if you'd be interested, contact us!

We're getting ready to start playing live with the new lineup and are working on new material for our next release which is presumably going to be an EP. We're very excited about the new songs and would love for you to be part of that process if you're a drummer that's interested.

WE'RE PLAYING LIVE ON SATURDAY 2ND NOVEMBER!!

Void Pleasantries is getting back on stage for the first time in five years (and first time ever with new members Adam and Doc!) on the above date at Broken Speaker Festival '24. The venue is the South Dalziel Historic Building in Motherwell.

We've been working hard in the studio throughout this year to get ready to play shows together, and we'll finally have the opportunity to play some new songs for you at the festival. We couldn't be more excited for it, and we'd love for you to grab a ticket and come along!

Broken Speaker is a charity gig in aid of a great cause, supporting St Andrew's Hospice, so it's a privilege in a number of ways to be part of it.

We're also really looking forward to playing alongside some fantastic local North Lanarkshire bands. Other acts performing on the day include: Saint PHNX, Visceral Noise Department, steeljoy, Pangean Sons, Space Van, and several more!
