ABOUT

Singer, songwriter, guitarist and composer - looking for a band basically. Would love to get gigging again, playing a mix of covers from Gabriel, Sting, classic rock, Coldplay, David Gray, Brandon Flowers/Killers, Chris Rea etc, just good tuneful, belting rock-pop, plus a heap of originals. Loved Nada Surf when I saw them in Leeds. For clarity, I can't stand Van Morrison and I glaze over if Steely Dan come on (heresy, I know) and I have no desire to look or sound American. I don't wear a trilby, or sunglasses or a leather waistcoat when I gig. There are no stickers on my instrument cases. I don't begin gigs by shouting 'Ow yer doin all right?'

I wanna do something way outside the standard pub canon but still rock the place to f**k.. Fed up of hearing Proud Mary, Long Train Runnin and Mustang Sally when I catch a pub band live. Similarly Dakota and Wonderwall - plenty of good Stereophonics songs out there.

Looking for musos who can play and have a wide culture - basically an out of the box supergroup ;-) - with practice!

If you were to push me for a setlist to kick off with:

Digging in the Dirt (Gabriel)
Solsbury Hill "
Barry Williams Show "
I Wanna Get Lost With You (Stereophonics)
Crossfire (Flowers)
If I Ever Lose My Faith in You - tricky :-)
Bubbles (Biffy) (Maybe not the 7/8 jam at the end for the moment)
A Man for All Seasons (Zimmer/Williams)
Road to Hell (Rea)
Englishman in New York
Synchronicity II
Romeo and Juliet and other classic Knopfler

Some Bowie, John Mayer, Free, Zeppelin, KT Tunstall, The War on Drugs.
Broad church, I know but great songs.

Get together once a week and see how we get on.

So, looking for bass, keys, another guitar, drummer .. whatever really.
Be nice to add in some backing vocals too.

Happy to share vocals and songwriting and keen to get a band's ideas on arranging my own stuff.

I don't care how old or young you are or how many heads you have. Looking for nice cats to make incredible music with.

Acoustic (12-string, nylon, 6-string) or electric
(semi, LP style, Strat style). Couple of songs on streaming - more to come.
